All About the BBQ...
Sims Country BBQ was established in 1979 with the dream of good family fun, food, and entertainment. Owner Keith Sims developed the idea for the restaurant and has enjoyed his business ever since. You can meet him and maybe run into someone from your hometown down at the BBQ...people from all over the US and the world come to Sims BBQ to experience true Southern Appalachian culture. Sims BBQ is open to the public on Friday and Saturday nights. As of September 2005, Thursday nights are available to book for parties (churches, schools, companies, etc.) SCBBQ features live bluegrass music on Friday and Saturdays. The SIMS COUNTRY CLOGGERS and some of their friends from other groups frequent the BBQ and can be seen clogging on the weekends at the BBQ.
The menu includes an all you can eat buffet of coleslaw, beans, bread, chips, pickles, pork, and BBQ chicken, beef and cornbread fritters. The BBQ is cooked in a pit all day long (Texas style) and you can top it with hot or mild sauce. Believe it or not, the cost under $11 for an all you can eat buffet (and the entertainment). Children 12 & under are under $5.00 and Children 4 and under are free. Drinks are extra...as they are any place, but you pay for them at the "tea kitchen." Sims BBQ is a family oriented establishment...there are no alcoholic beverages permitted. Also as of 2004, the inside of the became smoke free. We will have "buckets" set up outside. This will be a good opportunity to take a walk to the pond...there are some whopper catfish in there! You can also play a game of horseshoes! Make your next family outing or bring your out of town guests to Sims Country BBQ for some good food and entertainment. We look forward to seeing you there!
NEW HOURS (as of 9/2005): Friday & Saturday from 5pm-9pm. Private Parties Available on Thursdays for 100 or more people.
